In memoriam

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that clings to us and persevere in running the race that lies before us while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus…” (Hebrews 12:1-2a, NABRE)

Here we remember some of those associated with LAMP who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith and rest in the sleep of peace.

Evelyn Parsons (November 16, 1913 – April 3, 2017)

Evelyn Parsons

Evelyn Parsons, a longtime friend and benefactor of LAMP Catholic Ministries, died peacefully at the age of 103. She was a published author who wrote books about the Catholic faith. When we first met her, she told us that her father was the one who built the house that much later became the LAMP Center (and she lived in the room that is now the chapel). Every day at 9am in California – noon here in New York – she would unite with us in praying our daily Angelus and St. Joseph prayer. We look forward to her continuing intercession now, and we hope to share her fellowship in eternity. We give thanks and praise to the God who, by the death and resurrection of Jesus, conquered death and restored life.
